The Society of Friends of St Cecilia's Hall and the Russell Collection was formed in 1971. One of the aims of the Friends of St Cecilia's Hall is to raise funds for the acquisition of further instruments; to acquire documentary, bibliographical and illustrative material pertaining to the history of the instruments; and generally to help in furthering the work of the Hall and the Collection.
The Friends organise social events for the members such as concerts, lectures, visits, the playing of chamber music, and also support a student in a short term project connected with keyboard instruments. Friends are admitted free to the Collection and at reduced rates to some of the concerts held in the Hall. Discounts are available to Friends on some of the items for sale.
One of the major activities of the Friends is the publication and selling of the items listed here. These items are available to visitors to the Hall and the Collection when the Collection is open to the public, or by mail-order. Prices are given elsewhere, and can be ordered using the Price List / Order Form.
