Kuhlohorn [flugelhorn] in Bb

Markneukirchen, 20th century

A gracefully curved version of the flugelhorn designed c 1885 for church and evangelical use in Posaunenchöre, the German brass church music tradition.

The mouthpiece in these recordings is (2959) mouthpiece for tenor horn (Boosey & Hawkes, London, third quarter of the 20th century).

Valve type: 3 rotary valves, rubber buffers on top caps.

Inscribed on bell with eagle motif / "AUG. CLEMENS GLIER / MUSIKINSTRUMENTEN / MANUFAKTUR / MARKNEUKIRCHEN i.S.".
