To coincide with our current exhibition of work from the University of Edinburgh's Fine Art Collection, we are hosting events for the whole family.
Through drawing workshops and treasure hunts the visitor will discover more about what the University of Edinburgh holds within its collections.
This is an opportunity to create work within the surroundings of paintings by great Scottish artists such as William Gear, John Bellany and Elizabeth Blackadder.
Suitable for all ages. Materials provided by the Gallery.

Reid Concert Hall Museum of Instruments

The John Donaldson Collection of Musical Instruments

(Wind, String and Percussion Instruments from all periods and places, with an emphasis on European instruments)

Music in the Morning - See up to 1000 rare and exotic instruments accompanied by trails, quizzes with prizes, hands-on interactives, demonstrations - all ages welcome

St Cecilia's Hall Museum of Instruments

The Raymond Russell Collection of Early Keyboard Instruments

(Harpsichords, virginals, spinets, organs and fortepianos from the period of their first construction to around 1820)

Afternoon Activities - Guided tours at 14:30 and 16:00 - hear demonstrations of historic instruments - harpsichords, clavichords, pianos and organs brought to life by animateurs
