Musical instrument collections and musical instrument-making - interaction in the history and the future At the threshold of the new century, in the era of the technical progress and world-wide use of the computer technique in all fields of social life the question about a sense in having a museum is put more intense. Lectures about the interaction of musical instrument collections and musical instrument-making in the past and in our days for example will be expected. In this connection the ideas about new ways and possibilities of the co-operation and the positive mutual influence of museums and craft in the future are also very interesting Papers will only be accepted if they are a) on the topic as described above and b) relevant to museum practice. Abstracts of 200 to 300 words should be submitted by post, fax or e-mail to C. ICOM- Germany wishes to support the meeting in Markneukirchen with a certain amount of money. The CIMCIM board wishes to use the money as a sponsorship for those members who wish to participate the meeting with papers and otherwise would not be able to. The support will be in housing and travelling.
